The SEPTEMBER 2015 Creative Writing Competition. Where to find the stories and how to vote.

ALL MYT SITE MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO READ AND ENJOY THE STORIES ENTERED IN THE SEPTEMBER 2015 CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION AND THEN, IF THEY SO WISH, VOTE FOR THE TOP THREE PLACINGS.

JUST FOLLOW THE LINKS TO THE STORIES LISTED BELOW TO FIND THEM ON-SITE.

********************************

The deadline for entries into the SEPTEMBER 2015 Creative Writing Competition passed at Midnight last night.

The topic for the stories was set by ‘PavlovaQueen’ who chose the topic “HYPE”. This topic was described by Pavlova as follows …

“On the way to the hairdresser I got a few “gifts” (i.e. new products being shoved)  bestowed upon me – one called Philosophy – Renewed Hope in a Jar….as well as Le Jour de Chanel (infinitessimally small flat plastic with it’s mates Le Nuit and Le Weekend!), all different (they swear), as your skin needs “time off” in the weekend!

In the end I only got Smoothing Lusterizer defrizzer & tamer from the hairdresser which suitably has the name “Hype”. So anything about sales people, discounts, talked up products, or the ridiculousness of names they’re given etc. I thought there’d be some good tales in that.”

**************************************************

A total of 11 entries have been accepted (a trifle disappointing but it is harvest time), and links to the stories are listed below.

Thank you to all the writers who have entered a story, and thanks in advance to all those readers on the MyT site who I hope will now support the competition by reading the stories and registering their vote in the form of a comment on the post that can be found on this link…
http://my.telegraph.co.uk/groups/creative-writing/forum/topic/the-september-2015-creative-writing-competition-where-to-find-the-stories-and-how-to-vote/

This is an open competition, and any interested party who wishes to participate is welcome to join in the voting and/or commenting on the stories at the appropriate time or place.

*********************************************

As in previous months, it would help if voters would make sure to quote the name of the story when posting their vote.

Voting can now commence and will continue until 11 p.m. on  Thursday the 8th of OCTOBER 2015.

There are no restrictions as to who is allowed to vote, all that is asked is that the voter reads all the stories and votes according to their preference. A brief reason for your choice is welcome but not mandatory.
Voters are requested to vote 5 points for first place, 3 points for second, and 1 point for third place.

Please do not submit any other point combinations such as 3/3/3, 4/4/1, 5/2/2, etc.

Writers are requested not to vote for any of their own entries. There will be no detailed summaries posted as to how the voting is progressing throughout the voting period but as soon as possible after voting closes a tabulated list of results will be posted separately and the winner declared.

*************************************************************

PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT AT LENGTH ABOUT THE STORIES OR RECORD ANY THOUGHTS THAT YOU MAY HAVE ON THEM, UNTIL AFTER VOTING CLOSES.

IF YOU WISH TO DESCRIBE IN DETAIL THE REASONS FOR YOUR CHOICES, OR COMMENT AT LENGTH ABOUT SOME OR ALL OF THE INDIVIDUAL STORIES, A SEPARATE PAGE WILL BE SET UP AT THE END OF THE VOTING PERIOD AND AFTER THE RESULT HAS BEEN POSTED.

Happy reading to you all, and please try not to believe all that you read.
It is after all, just a load of old hyperbole. 🙂
